Skirmish gives players an accessible way to compete at their local game store in the Silver Age format, with Premium promos on the line. As the primary in-store home for Silver Age, Skirmish bridges casual weekly play and higher-stakes competition, giving players a clear pathway to develop their skills as they progress in their competitive journey.

Is there any flexibility on the event dates?
Skirmish events must be run between the dates specified above. If stores are unable to host the event within the scheduled timeframe, please cancel the event and return the Prize Kit to your distributor.
How will I know if my store has been selected to host a Skirmish event?
Selected stores will receive an email inviting them to sanction their event in GEM.
Invitations will be sent September 2nd with stores having until September 18th, 2026 to sanction their events in GEM.
What format is Skirmish?
Skirmish events use the Silver Age format.

Event Structure
How many events can I run?
You may only run ONE event per season you are invited to.
How long should I budget for a Silver Age Skirmish event?
Silver Age events require 35-minute rounds during swiss rounds. Some matches may go to time; we recommend allowing a few more minutes per round. Top cut matches will generally be untimed, if you need to set a time limit for them, you must inform players as early as possible.

How many players do I need to run my event?
Events require a minimum of 8 players to run.
Are there any special requirements during the event?
Yes, all heroes must be recorded in GEM before you start your event.
Prizes and Distribution
How is the prize kit going to be distributed?
The Prize kit will be supplied by your distributor. Distributors will be notified of participating stores once the event sanctioning window has closed.
What are the prizes?
Legend Story Studios will provide a free Skirmish prize kit to support your event, including promotional cards and participation prizing.
Each Skirmish prize kit follows a consistent structure:
1 x Marvel Promo – awarded to the event winner
8 x Premium Promos – awarded to the highest placed 8 unique Heroes.
1 x Premium Promo – awarded via a random prize draw
2 x Playmats – awarded to the event winner and via a random prize draw
GEM Packs – participation prizes for players while stock lasts
How are premium promos awarded to the highest placed 8 unique Heroes?
For Skirmish, the eight Premium promos are awarded to the highest-placed player for each of the top eight unique heroes in the final Swiss standings. They are not awarded based on Top 8 player placement.
For example, if the players who placed 1st and 2nd after the last round of Swiss are both playing Bravo, only the player who came 1st will get the promo. Distribution then continues down the standings, awarding each remaining promo to the next highest-placed players using a unique hero. Heroes are considered different if their full name is different (Bravo and Bravo, Flattering Showman are different heroes for determining unique heroes).
If fewer than eight unique heroes are represented, any remaining promos are awarded to the next highest-placed players in the final Swiss standings who have not yet received one.
Rules Enforcement and Decklists
What level of rules enforcement is Skirmish run at?
Skirmish events are run at Casual Rules Enforcement Level. Rules should be enforced using the Casual Procedure Guide. This means that rules enforcement is centered on education and getting games back to as close to their natural state as possible as opposed to harsh enforcement penalties.
Are decklists required for Skirmish events?
Yes! Decklist collection is mandatory for Skirmish events as is hero selection within GEM. We recommend you select “Require Decklists” when setting up your event in GEM so players can submit their decklist and hero information using the GEM Deck Builder. Other Questions
Can I run this event at a location that is not my store?
Skirmish Season 16 events can be run at alternate locations. However, location information needs to be entered in the event description in GEM when you create the event.
Can store staff play in these events?
The Tournament Organizer (TO) for the event cannot play. Store staff that are not involved in the administration of the event or running the store at the time of the event are allowed.
Am I required to have a certified judge for my event?
No, a certified judge is not required for Skirmish events. However, stores may choose to have a judge available to answer questions. If you choose to have a designated judge for your event they may not play in the event.
If you choose not to have a certified judge for your event, we strongly recommend that Tournament Organizers and/or store staff become familiar with the Casual Procedure Guide and the core Rules & Policy to make sure your event runs smoothly.
